iLearn

Our school announced a few weeks back that students in grades 6 - 12 will all receive a MacBook as part of their tools provided for by tuition this fall. In addition, students are expected to have an iTouch or iPhone in class with them everyday. The initiative is being called the Digital Learning Environment: iLearn.

This is exciting and a little scary. We have made a major commitment in moving forward with transforming the education our students are receiving. With this commitment, the expectations from all vested parties have just been raised. Our teachers have worked very hard to get to the point that they are ready for this transformation. We are at the brink of something incredible that we can't know exactly how it plays out. That's the scary part. We are confident, though, that the results of all of this will be a student who leaves our school prepared for an ever-changing society.

The local television station did a nice news piece on this.
